Faculty News – Dr. Robin Bruke Receives Digital Humanities Start Up Grant from the NEH

The National Endowment for the Humanities recently awarded a grant to DePaul faculty and staff in March of 2016 for a research project involving the Chicago Public Library, as part of the NEH Office of Digital Humanities Start-Up Grant program.

The project will be led by Dr. John Shanahan and Dr. Antonio Ceraso from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Dr. Megan Bernal from the Information Technology and Discovery Services at the DePaul University Library, and Dr. Robin Burke from CDM and the DaMPA Center.

Project Title: Reading Chicago Reading – Modeling Texts and Readers in a Public Library System

This grant will support a pilot study on how analyzing patron responses to a citywide reading program can help scholars and librarians better understand which book genres and styles prove most meaningful to the community.
